🛑 The Initial Challenge: An Urgent Need for Performance

 

At the beginning of our collaboration, we were faced with an alarming performance issue. The association’s website was so slow that it was impossible to obtain a score on crucial performance analysis tools like Google PageSpeed Insights. This slowness was detrimental not only to the user experience but also to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the association’s credibility.

✨ Key Steps in the Optimization Process

 

To breathe new life into the website, we implemented a multi-stage strategy:

1. Media Renovation and Optimization

 

• Targeted Cleanup: We proceeded with the removal of unused images that were unnecessarily weighing down the database and increasing load times.

• Advanced Compression: All PNG images were converted and optimized into the WebP format—a next-generation format that drastically reduces file size without compromising quality.

• Intelligent Translation: We overhauled the page translation process to ensure no media files were duplicated, guaranteeing maximum lightness across all language versions.

2. Accelerating Delivery: Transition to Cloudflare

 

• DNS Migration: We migrated the domain name servers (DNS) to Cloudflare. This global Content Delivery Network (CDN) ensures a much faster distribution of website data, providing increased speed to users regardless of their location.

3. Platform Maintenance and Security

 

• Systematic Updates: We ensured that all content was up-to-date, including articles, posts, videos, courses, and Shabbat leaflets.

• WordPress Update: The core of the site was brought up-to-date by updating the WordPress version along with all necessary extensions/plugins, ensuring maximum security and compatibility.

• Modern PHP Environment: The PHP version (the site’s engine) was updated to the latest stable version, which delivers significant gains in performance and security.

Thanks to these interventions, The Pinto Association’s website has regained optimal speed and is now fully compliant with modern performance standards. It is faster for users, better positioned for SEO, and simpler for the association’s team to manage.
